18 An ammonium chloride erythrocytes-lysing procedure was used to prepare a bacterial pellet 19 from positive blood cultures for direct MALDI-TOF mass spectrometry analysis. 20 Identification was obtained for 78.7% of pellets. Moreover, 99% of MALDI-TOF 21 identifications were congruent at species level when considering valid scores. This fast and 22 accurate method is promising. 23
